Having recently learned Kotlin and Android development skills, our team had come up with a novel and fun app idea. Drawing inspiration from popular social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and BeReal, we envisioned a space that would diverge from the toxic environments often found on these platforms and instead cultivate a community of kind and caring individuals. We set and accomplished our goals to create features such daily challenges, location-based posts, leaderboards, privacy options, user authentication, and a friend/following system. While the journey was certainly not a simple one, the sense of accomplishment upon completion made it all the more rewarding.
